If you are looking for serious volume look somewhere else because this unit is limited in that department. Great system, but just not enough volume.
I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, quality system. It is simple to use and the sound is quite good. I was very pleased with this Sony system. I set it up, including running the wires through the ceiling, in about 90 minutes.
We Love It. The Sony DAV-HDX500/i Bravia Home Theater system is WONDERFUL. We feel as if we are actually in a Movie Theater, however the great sound effects that come out of it scare our dog and cats to death so they run and hide.
Great service. Great price from Vann's. Would do business with them again in a heartbeat. Excellent in every aspect. Easy to setup, easy to use.
It sounds great. It was shaking the house.
More importantly, when we watch a film we can really understand the conversations. It's not a powered subwoofer like my last system yet the bass is far superior.
I love the system. My wife and I watched "American Gangster" last night and we had to back off on the bass.
There is a lot less "what did he say." Also, no one could touch Amazon's price. I'm not the best at hooking up systems like this but I got it done in a reasonable amount of time.
I don't understand the review about "needs more bass".
